School Values

Kindness

“Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honour.” – Proverbs 21:21

At Beechboro Christian School, we know that kindness breathes life into relationships, fosters a love for one another, brings greater understanding of others, and leads to unity and harmony. We do not see kindness as a superficial action, but rather a virtue that we want our students to actively pursue.

Kindness encompasses the desire to treat others with compassion, empathy, and respect. Kindness was modelled throughout the life of Jesus, and has the potential to transform lives and create a more harmonious and loving world.

Community

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”

Beechboro Christian School has always had a strong focus and value on their community; this is because the concept of community is deeply rooted throughout the teachings of Jesus. Within our community, we recognise that each individual brings their unique background, culture, and view of the world, which contributes to a diverse tapestry of ideas, beliefs, and values.

For Beechboro Christian School, love is at the core of our community; fostering an environment of care, support, and unity. This then become the bond that transcends individual differences and creates a strong sense of belonging. We value that our community embraces and celebrates diversity, and seeks to foster a vibrant and inclusive environment that enriches the lives of all our families.

Courage

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Fear and discouragement are common emotions that we may face, but God commands us to embrace courage in the face of challenges, uncertainties, and obstacles that we face. This involves having the ability to step out confidently, and take action to overcome limitations, doubts, and insecurities.

With courage, we can pursue our dreams and aspirations, make decisions, and stand up for what is right, even in the face of opposition and adversity. We believe that Jesus is with us wherever we go, and therefore we can draw comfort, strength, and guidance from Him. Courage is not the absence of fear but the willingness to act in spite of it.

Excellence

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” – Colossians 3:23

We are called to approach all tasks and responsibilities with a spirit of excellence. This guiding principle highlights the understanding that we are ultimately serving the Lord through our actions.

We see excellence as a mindset that fosters a commitment to quality, diligence, and perseverance. This not only includes our academic pursuits, but also our relationships and personal growth. We teach our students that the value of excellence lies not only in achieving academic outcomes, but also focuses on the cultivating of a character of integrity and honour.
